Course summary

Jennifer Young’s postgraduate diploma Balanced Body and Mind is a certified qualification designed to give spa therapists, beauty practitioners and healthcare workers the understanding, knowledge and confidence to provide these specially designed massage and body treatments to clients going through the different stages of cancer, without requiring medical consent.

The treatment experience starts with identifying the chakra to be balanced during this indulgent and soothing full body treatment. Using 100% natural and organic oils blended for their affinity with the chakra energy centres, as well as crystals, this treatment is ideal for even the most sensitive skins.

Learn how to harness the power of specialist touch, the energy of the crystals and the therapeutic benefits of essential oils bring balance, harmony and well-being. Your clients will be left feeling deeply relaxed.  The experience is extended to include the scalp ensuring that your massage brings total release.

We know, through evidence-based research, that when someone is going through cancer treatment, living with cancer or recovering from it, touch treatments can have a powerful physical, mental and emotional impact on health and wellbeing. Benefits can range from reduced anxiety, reduced pain and reduced nausea to reduced depression and increased dopamine levels, as well as practical improvements to some of the physical side effects of cancer treatment such as painfully dry skin, brittle nails, skin pigmentation and chronic itching.

This course at the Jennifer Young Training School is combination of online learning and the supported completion of case studies. Through it, you will learn about the biology of cancer, the science of its treatments, the biological drivers of resulting side-effects, and how to adapt and deliver the Jennifer Young Balanced Body and Mind, safely and confidently.

This is a certified course accredited by FHT. Upon successful completion, you will be able to welcome cancer patients to your spa or practice for oncology body massages. You will be insured to do so, without requiring medical consent.
