Auricular Acupuncture Level 1 (For Therapists)
Our auricular acupuncture level 1 qualification is comprehensive and wide-ranging.
It covers all that is required by the National Occupational Standard (NOS) and associated Skills for Health.
The detail is given in the Auricular Acupuncture Guide.
During this qualification, you will become familar with, and competent in, a 5 point protocol used in many health care settings.
It is used to support clients through a variety of health care concerns. It is primarily used to support those affected by cancer and people facing addiction.
It is widely used as it has many proven benefits and very few contraindications.
Upon successful completion of this course, you are welcome to join us for our Postgraduate courses.
Certificate in Weight Management Auricular Acupuncture

- The research relating to weight and health

- How to speak with a client about managing their weight (and how not to)
- Preferred methods of measuring weight change

In person, supported by online learning materials
- Methods to identify the underlying causes of weight change
- The auricular acupuncture points which may support your client as they manage their weight
- Points which may be more specific to your client and their experience of managing weight
- A system of matching the points to the needs of your client
- How to use a decision tree to identify the auricular acupuncture points most relevant to your client
You will be given a step by step process to identify the underlying factors relevant to your clients, and the points to match to those factors, allowing you to create a bespoke protocol for your clients.
In addition, you will be given a baseline protocol, to which you can add your bespoke points.
You will also have access to
- a consultation card to match this innovative system
- information cards to help your clients to identify and manipulate body acupuncture points, facilitating additional self-care support between treatments
- a suggested clinic programme for you to offer to clients who seek to manage their weight
- marketing words and materials to support your business
- standardised methods of collecting data to show your effectiveness

In-Person Practical Training
You will be required to attend one in-person training day for the Level 1 course and 2 in-person days for the Certificate in Weight Management. There are 3 in-person days in total.
We have set it up in our calendars so that these dates can be booked over the space of 3 consecutive days. 28th, 29th & 30th June.
You will be sent a link to book your dates after you complete each course.
The in-person days are set up in two different calendars, so you will be sent the link to book the 1 day (for Auricular Acupuncture Level 1) upon completion of the first course - followed by the 2 days (for Certificate in Weight Management).

Case Studies
You may wish to upgrade your qualification to a Postgraduate Diploma upon completion of 5 x 2 case studies.
These are completed independently and assessesed according to the criteria set out in the case study booklet. The booklet is available to you as soon as you sign up for the upgrade.
Please note - you are required to share images of your client and needling at this stage.
You are welcome to join us for In-Clinic Assessment Days in order to complete your case studies.
This option is available at an additional per day charge. You will supervised when treating clients and will be able to discuss any concerns, learning and triumphs with the clinic supervisor.
There is no limit on the number of days upon which you can attend.
Your Diploma is issued when you have successfully completed 10 treatments.
There is no time limit placed upon completion but we require you to practice in clinic at intervals of no longer than 2 months.

You should be a wellness or health care practitioner.
Can you do (ear) acupuncture for weight loss?
I am asked this question more than any other and when I say ‘more’ I mean way more. I’ve also had amazing results with auricular acupuncture and weight loss.

Licensing
There is a requirement for UK based acupuncturists to register premises and practitioners with the local authority for the area in which the premises are found.
Please visit your local authority website to see the detail of their requirements and cost. The law governing this requirement relates to health and hygiene which are covered in detail during our qualification.
We foresee no issues with your gaining a licence to practice having completed this qualification. Licensing remains your responsibility and, as all local authorities have different licensing processes and procedures, we are unable to guarantee a successful licensing application.
You undertake this qualification in the knowledge we accept no responsibility in the unlikley event that you are unable to register premises in your area.
